Welcome to the Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM)!

Federal government, military personnel, and civilian employees rely on both government-issued and personal smartphones for primary, work-related communication and point of contact – phone calls, text messages, e-mail, and mobile apps. Due to security risks, smartphones are not permitted into Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), which limit an employee’s ability to perform a variety of necessary work functions on cellular devices.

Conceras introduces Tactus, a two-part device designed to uniquely combine Telecommunications Security Group (TSG) certification and a proprietary, patent pending technology. Tactus offers the ability to mirror smartphone functionality from a lockbox in a non-secure area to a remote desktop unit within a SCIF, meeting all security requirements for signal and power isolation and positive disconnects. The desktop unit in the SCIF is an electromechanical solution with no software. Tactus has an isolated and dedicated communication link and does not operate on government IT infrastructure. Tactus is manufactured in the U.S. and meets stringent, secure supply chain management laws and regulations.

Tactus provides several benefits to clients. The product increases security, enhances operational efficiencies, and improves employee productivity by up to 20 percent, recovering as much as $60,000 per person per year in previously lost productivity. In addition, the solution lowers total cost of ownership compared to enterprise platforms; Tactus has no software on the desktop unit, which means no ongoing license fees, maintenance, patches, or updates. Tactus also improves employee recruitment and retention. Clients have informed us that candidates often decline employment when work is required in SCIFs because they are separated from their smartphones. Lastly, the product improves urgent communication, allowing personnel to receive and send urgent phone calls and text messages.
