Welcome to the Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM)!

As the Department of Defense faces escalating cyber threats from near-peer competitors, security solutions that provide trusted, immutable, and verifiable enforcement mechanisms at critical network junctures is becoming increasingly important. Hardware-enforced security, also known as hardsec, provides an extremely robust means of providing such a mechanism through the use of purpose-built hardware capable of providing sanitized access from trusted systems to riskier or unknown environments. In August 2025, Everfox acquired Garrison Technology, a longtime leader in hardsec solutions. This TEM will provide an overview of the latest innovations in hardsec for both browser isolation and cross-domain use cases.

A hardsec approach to browser isolation can provide the security that networks like the DODIN need from near-peer competitors on the Internet. By using the same technological principles used to protect National Security Systems, hardware-enforced browser isolation provides a verifiable and immutable solution that mitigates the threat of even advanced exploitation techniques such as zero-days and container escape. It implements a complete protocol break between organizational IT systems and the public Internet, disrupting C2 and providing robust verification, rate limiting and audit of all user interactions. Use of dedicated processors for each browser session removes the risk of data leakage and provides a quality user experience even during periods of high demand. Everfox has further honed this technology by providing hardsec content disarm and reconstruction capabilities to allow sanitized access to the most common download formats.

In classified environments, Everfox’s acquisition of Garrison continues to revolutionize the way DOD and its partners think about cross-domain solutions for mission-critical activities. Everfox is rising to meet new mission requirements by continuing Garrison’s legacy of trusted, hardware-enforced solutions that allow access to high-threat networks from classified workstations and supplementing those capabilities with features like bidirectional audio, allowing DOD to collaborate with mission and private sector partners in real-time across domains. The hardware-based, NCDSMO-approved suite of Garrison appliances allows access to collaborative workspaces, secure infrastructure management interfaces, and secure remote work. It also supports third party applications like social media, messaging, and video tools.
